THE PREDICTION
Considering Bordeaux Begles have won just two of their last eight Top 14 matches it is a small miracle, and an indictment of other sides at the top, that they were just two points away from leaders Montpellier last Sunday night after a 22-23 victory. Bordeaux lost three matches on the spin to La Rochelle in league and cup before that result which could well springboard them back to the top this Sunday, especially as Montpellier have a difficult trip to Lyon on Saturday. Toulon should not be underestimated, though, with seven wins from their last nine Top 14 matches seeing them close in on the play-offs in what has been a stark season of two halves. Toulon beat reigning champions Toulouse 19-15 last Saturday and a 10-43 thumping of Lyon in their previous trip suggests this could be an upset waiting to happen. Backing Bordeaux with an outright pick to edge to victory is not as cautious as first appears.
