THE PREDICTION
Bordeaux Begles’ woes continued last time out with a 16-29 defeat at home to Toulon seeing a huge opportunity to regain the Top 14 lead go begging. They have won just two of their last nine Top 14 matches but still remain deep inside the play-off race with teams elsewhere also failing to capitalise on each other’s mistakes and a win at home to Lyon would put one foot inside the play-offs ahead of the last day of the season. Travelling Lyon have won five matches on the bounce after a Challenge Cup semi-final victory over Wasps last Saturday but they have struggled away from home against the better sides in the division. Given Bordeaux’s recent troubles, though, backing the hosts to win outright seems a suitably cautious move.
