THE PREDICTION

Gloucester beat Dragons 21-26 last Saturday to secure their route through to the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup and this looks set to be a barnstorming first leg against fellow Premiership side Northampton Saints if their recent league meeting is anything to go by. The hosts edged past the Saints 35-30 here in early March but they snapped a four-match winning streak in their last match here 21-27 at home to Wasps. Travelling Northampton are back in fine form after a dreadful start to the new year with their 39-22 victory over Bristol in the Premiership last time out taking their winning streak to five matches across all competitions. Backing hosts Gloucester to edge this outright seems something of a risk given the visitors’ form, with a +4 head-start for the Saints perhaps the shrewd move here.
