THE PREDICTION
France have plenty to prove off the back of their excellent Six Nations campaign as they finished runner-up to England on points difference alone, and their home defeat of Ireland to finish off the tournament was as emphatic as it was definitive. An open-ended loss to Scotland back in March was the only blight on a brilliant campaign under Fabien Galthié and they tightened up their defence accordingly after that. They welcome a Fiji side who last played competitively almost exactly one year ago in a 31-33 win away to the Barbarians and the visitors will be in for a tough night in Vannes. With a handicap in this match hard to pin down it could be worth picking France to make the majority of a result that goes over 40 points in a win that should see them top Pool B on points difference.
