THE PREDICTION
Tonga were humbled away to New Zealand on Saturday to the tune of 102 unanswered points. Meanwhile, Samoa have lost two tests against New Zealand Maori by margins of 15 points in both matches for a slightly rosier picture coming into this 2021 Pacific In Union Test Series fixture. Samoa have not won an international match since beating Russia in their first 2019 World Cup group match whilst, similarly, Tonga’s last win came against the USA in their last group match of a disappointing campaign in 2019. On neutral ground in Auckland the playing field will be fairly level but Samoa were the victors in their last meeting before the 2019 World Cup and Tonga’s hammering by the All Blacks looks a little bleak for their chances coming in.
