THE PREDICTION
With just six points between hosts Toulouse in first place and travelling Clermont Auvergne in fifth before this weekend’s round of fixtures, this last game of the weekend could have huge ramifications. Toulouse have faltered in a bad way domestically, with three defeats from their last four Top 14 matches, but the Champions Cup victory over La Rochelle last weekend more than made up for those shortcomings and they can focus solely on the title now. With two games to play Toulouse must simply win both their games but Clermont are a tough side in recent form and next weekend looks like a mammoth final match away at in-form Bordeaux. As has so often been the case this season, Clermont’s home form would have them favourites against almost any side but away from home they have lost their last two. This could be too tight for a handicap so taking the hosts to win outright seems the safest option.
