THE TEAM NEWS

LEEDS RHINOS

  • Leeds Rhinos were poor last week as they succumbed to defeat against Castleford Tigers in what was a first loss in three matches and there will need to be huge improvements on the back of that effort.
  • The Rhinos struggled to get anything going in attack so may turn to Luke Hooley with the off-season signing from Batley Bulldogs named in the 21-man squad for the first time since his arrival.

21-man squad: Myler, Fusitu’a, Newman, Macdonald, Austin, Sezer, Tetevano, Martin, Smith, O’Connor, Lisone, Olpherts, Sangare, Holroyd, McDonnell, Hooley, Walters, Tindall, Donaldson, Johnson, Sinfield

Unavailable: Mikolaj Oledzki (Injured), Morgan Gannon (Injured), Ash Handley (Injured), Kruise Leeming (Personal reasons), James Bentley (Suspended)

Questionable:

CATALANS DRAGONS

  • Catalans Dragons maintained their perfect start to the season as they claimed their fifth win in succession in their clash with Hull KR last week.
  • The Dragons are exceeding expectations at this early point in the season and having performed so well in spite of a big injury list, there is surely room for further improvement with key man Mitchell Pearce back in the squad.

21-man squad: Mourgue, Davies, Keighran, Laguerre, May, Pearce, McMeeken, McIlorum, Bousquet, Whitley, Seguier, Garcia, Da Costa, Goudemand, Rouge, Chan, Romano, Dezaria, Johnstone, Scimone, Ma’u

Unavailable: Fouad Yaha (Injured), Sam Tomkins (Injured), Romain Navarrete (Injured), Sio Siua Taukeiaho (Injured)

Questionable: Mitchell Pearce, Matt Whitley

THE PREDICTION

Leeds Rhinos were frustrated in their efforts to make it three successive victories as they lost out to Castleford Tigers in what was a very poor performance last week. Head coach Rohan Smith might opt to switch things up in his side for this one but it will be a tough task for the Rhinos as they host an impressive Catalans Dragons outfit. The visitors have won all of their matches to date this season after they overcame Hull KR and the consistency in their performances so far suggests that they can extend their winning streak.
