- It was an underwhelming campaign for Wakefield Trinity last time out and they looked like they would collect the wooden spoon for long periods but they showed some improvement towards the back end of the season to avoid that fate.
- They will hope for a much better showing in 2021 but head coach Chris Chester will be largely working with a similar group of players this time around, although Mason Lino is a new face in the halves.

LEEDS RHINOS
- Leeds Rhinos never really looked good enough to compete for the Super League crown last season but it was still a successful campaign for them as they lifted the Challenge Cup with a win over Salford Red Devils at Wembley.
- The Rhinos need to find greater consistency this term but they face a difficult opening here with seven players sidelined through injury which opens the door for Kyle Eastmond to potentially make his debut for the club having returned to the sport following a long stint in rugby union.

THE PREDICTION
Both of these teams will be desperate to get off to a strong start to the season but for different reasons. Wakefield Trinity flirted with the bottom of the table for much of last season and a similar year here could result in relegation. Leeds Rhinos on the other hand earned some silverware in the form of the Challenge Cup last time around but they lacked the consistency needed to challenge for the Super League title. The pair will have plenty to prove in this opening clash and while Leeds are missing plenty of talent through injury, they should still be able to prevail here.
