- Hull FC have taken the place of Castleford Tigers for this clash with Leeds Rhinos with less than 24 hours’ notice after the coaching staff and playing group unanimously voted to step in for the good of the competition.
- In what was supposed to be their bye week, the Black and Whites were asked to play with Castleford unable to fulfil the fixture because of some positive COVID-19 tests as well as other players needed to stand down because of the track and trace system.
- In announcing their decision to play, Hull stated that they would be without eight players because of injury issues as well as a positive test of their own which has also seen a further three forced into self-isolation which makes this an almighty test for FC despite being on a high after they snatched a late win against Cas last week.

- The decision to rest their first-team stars ahead of their Challenge Cup semi-final clash with Wigan Warriors clearly paid dividends for Leeds Rhinos as they progressed to Wembley with a dominant performance in the rain.

This hastily arranged game will pit Hull FC against Leeds Rhinos with the Black and Whites having less than 24 hours to prepare for the contest. Leeds’ original opponents Castleford Tigers dropped out owing to issues with their squad caused by three positive COVID-19 tests and that has seen Hull step in at notice. It will take a mammoth effort from Hull in what is supposed to be their home game as they travel to Leeds to face the Rhinos at Headingley, especially in these circumstances. Hull have major issues with their own squad too with at least 12 players sidelined through injury and COVID related problems. With that in mind, they may get caught off guard against the Rhinos and although the effort will be there, they are likely to fall short with Leeds able to win by at least ten points.
