- Huddersfield Giants were hopeful of making an immediate return to winning ways following their loss to Salford Red Devils but they were edged in a close contest with Hull FC as their top four hopes were dealt a huge blow.
- The Giants succumbed to an 18-16 loss as Marc Sneyd’s late penalty sealed Huddersfield’s fate and that defeat leaves them without much wiggle room if they are to qualify for the play-offs.
- Interim head coach Luke Robinson will be without winger Jermaine McGillvary for this clash with Oliver Russell and Robson Stevens also dropping out but Oliver Wilson and Ukama Ta’ai make welcome returns from injury whilst Ronan Michael could be handed a debut.

- Wakefield Trinity’s miserable season hit another low point as they were on the receiving end of a big score against St. Helens, just a week after they had pushed the reigning champions all the way in a tight affair.
- The 48-6 defeat was a very poor one for Trinity as they allowed some extremely soft tries and the manner of that defeat will be a big worry for head coach Chris Chester with rumours of a dressing room revolt against him picking up pace during the week.
- Wakefield have also suffered more COVID-19 woes with several players forced to self-isolate but in better news, Jacob Miller and Jay Pitts are among those back in the 21-man squad for this clash.

THE PREDICTION
Wakefield Trinity continue to prop-up the Super League table after losing heavily last week and they have now suffered ten consecutive league defeats. It is also ten straight defeats in all competitions for Trinity as they remain without a win following the restart which has turned up the heat on head coach Chris Chester. He will be desperate for his side’s poor form to come to an end but they face a tough task against a Huddersfield Giants outfit chasing the top four. They come into this on the back of two successive defeats but the Giants should be able to return to winning ways and comfortably here with Huddersfield able to win by at least 14 points against their struggling opponents.
