THE PREDICTION

North Queensland Cowboys secured a stunning victory in their clash with Cronulla Sharks thanks to an excellent two-point field goal from Valentine Holmes in the 93rd minute of the contest. The teams could not be separated after 80 minutes as well as a ten-minute period of extra-time but Holmes’ brilliance secured the victory and with it, the week off for the Cowboys. They will be fresh for this contest against Parramatta Eels but the visitors will be a on a high after securing a dominant win over Canberra Raiders last week as they booked their spot in this preliminary final. They have now won four of their last five while the Cowboys have won six of their last eight so this one could go either way. However, the Cows have lost just one of their last nine home games and that impressive record means they are are favoured to advance to the Grand Final.
