THE TEAM NEWS

MELBOURNE STORM

  • Melbourne Storm suffered a shock loss at the hands of Newcastle Knights last week in what was a second defeat in three matches for Craig Bellamy’s side.
  • They will find it tough going to compete for the minor Premiership on the back of those losses and Bellamy has reacted to his side’s poor showing by naming a new-look centre partnership while Nelson Asofa-Solomona has picked up an injury and Tariq Sims is banned.

Starting 13: Meaney, Warbrick, Seve, Tonumaipea, Coates, Munster, Hughes, Kamikamica, H. Grant, Welch, Loiero, Eisenhuth, King – Interchanges: Garlick, MacDonald, Katoa, Wishart – Reserves: Anderson, Lewis, Moeroa, Pene, Nikorima

Unavailable: Dean Ieremia (Injured), Ryan Papenhuyzen (Injured), Reimis Smith (Injured), Nelson Asofa-Solomona (Injured), Tariq Sims (Suspended)

PARRAMATTA EELS

  • Parramatta Eels have now lost two of their last three matches after going down to top eight rivals North Queensland Cowboys and they are under pressure to claim a result from this clash.
  • The Eels are still without a handful of important players and Shaun Lane has now joined that list after suffering a gruesome elbow injury in last week’s defeat.

Starting 13: Gutherson, Blake, Penisini, Simonsson, Russell, Asi, Moses, Ogden, Hands, Paulo, Davey, Cartwright, Hopgood – Interchanges: Moretti, Ofahengaue, Lussick, Matterson – Reserves: Dunster, Makatoa, Greig, Rodwell, Murchie

Unavailable: Wiremu Greig (Injured), Dylan Brown (Suspended), Josh Hodgson (Injured), Reagan Campbell-Gillard (Suspended), Maika Sivo (Suspended), Shaun Lane (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Melbourne Storm and Parramatta Eels will both be desperate to prevail here but for different reasons. They have each managed to win just one of their last three matches after suffering disappointing losses last week but it is the Storm that will really need to improve after a really underwhelming showing against Newcastle Knights. However, they are on home soil and having lost just two of their home games this season, they can produce a sufficient response here and can claim the spoils.
