THE TEAM NEWS

CRONULLA SHARKS

  • Cronulla Sharks continued their bright start to life under new head coach Craig Fitzgibbon as they made it three straight wins thanks to earning a comfortable success over Newcastle Knights.
  • The Sharks scored some lovely tries while showing their defensive steel as they nilled their opponents and there is seemingly more to come from this side with Fitzgibbon rolling with the same 17 for this contest.

Starting 13: Kennedy, Katoa, Ramien, Talakai, Mulitalo, Moylan, Hynes, Rudolf, Brailey, Hamlin-Uele, Nikora, Wilton, Finucane – Interchanges: Tolman, McInnes, Trindall, Fifita – Reserves: Williams, Hiroti, Miller, Hunt, Lualua, Dykes, Pele

Unavailable: Wade Graham, Matt Ikuvalu, Connor Tracey

WESTS TIGERS

  • Wests Tigers lost yet again last week as they remained the only side without a win through four rounds of the season and their losing streak now stands at seven games stretching back to last season.
  • Wests were edged by Gold Coast Titans in a game lacking any quality with the Titans bagging the only try of the game late on but under-fire head coach Michael Maguire has opted to stick with the same side for this clash despite another abject showing last week.

Starting 13: Laurie, Nofoaluma, Roberts, Gildart, Maumalo, Madden, Brooks, Tamou, Liddle, Musgrove, Tuilagi, Leilua, Ofahengaue – Interchanges: Peachey, Twal, Garner, Seyfarth – Reserves: To’a, Simpkin, Mikaele, Dias, Simpkins, Tupou, Ngatikaura

Unavailable: Shawn Blore, Adam Doueihi, Asu Kepaoa, Tommy Talau, Jackson Hastings, Stefao Utoikamanu

THE PREDICTION

Cronulla Sharks have been one of the most impressive teams in the early stages of the new season and they will be confident of recording another win as they host a struggling Wests Tigers outfit. The Sharks have won their last three and produced a professional display to nil Newcastle Knights in tricky conditions last week. That form is a far cry from that of Wests who have lost all four of their games so far this season and they now have lost their last seven dating back to last year. There is a lack of quality throughout the roster which was evident in a woeful performance against Gold Coast Titans last week and it is hard to see where their next win comes from. The Sharks should prove to be far too good here and they can run out big winners so it is worth backing them to win by 9+/13+ in the HT/FT winning margin market.
