  • Canterbury Bulldogs again showed some decent signs in defeat as they went down to South Sydney Rabbitohs last week but it is the win they need as they attempt to chase down Brisbane Broncos in a bid to avoid the wooden spoon.
  • The Bulldogs came close to causing a huge upset as they pushed the Rabbitohs all the way but ultimately fell short, although they will be eager to build on that attacking performance having posted 24 points in defeat.

CRONULLA SHARKS

Starting 13: Kennedy, Katoa, Tracey, Ramien, Mulitalo, Trindall, Johnson, Rudolf, Brailey, Woods, Talakai, Nikora, Jack Williams – Interchanges: Hiroti, Hunt, Hamlin-Uele, Fifita – Reserves: Magoulias, Metcalf

Unavailable: Bronson Xerri (Suspended), Jackson Ferris (Injured), Wade Graham (Injured), Franklin Pele (Injured), Matt Moylan (Injured), Will Chambers (Isolation), Josh Dugan (Isolation), Aiden Tolman (Suspended)

  • Cronulla Sharks have now lost two of their last three matches after an underwhelming showing against Canberra Raiders last week and the pressure is now on them to turn things around to ensure they stay in contention for the top eight.
  • The Sharks cannot afford to slip-up here against the side rooted to the foot of the ladder but they must improve on their recent efforts in which they have twice fallen in matches in which they have been favourites to claim the win.

THE PREDICTION

Canterbury Bulldogs have performed well in their last two matches but they have not managed to take anything from either. They will believe a win is not too far off and this could be a chance to capitalise as they take on an out-of-sorts Cronulla Sharks outfit. The Sharks have lost two of their last three in underwhelming fashion and their inconsistency could cost them in their bid to finish in the finals. Cronulla must improve here with the Bulldogs likely to ask questions based on their recent showings and it is Canterbury that make appeal on the handicap here with a +12.5 start.
