Roberto Bautista Agut came back from the brink to book his place in the next round of Queen’s Club. He was a set and a break down to Nuno Borges while he also saved a match point in the second set. The Spaniard battled his way back to win 6-7 7-6 6-4.
He takes on Jakub Mensik who was also involved in a three-set match. He took the first set against Cameron Norrie on a tiebreak, but the Brit dominated the second to force a decider. Mensik managed to outlast Norre and became just the second teenager to win at Queen’s in the last decade, winning 7-6 1-6 6-1.
They’ve played once before and it took place earlier this year, as Mensik defeated Bautista Agut in the first-round of the Miami Open on his way to winning the biggest title of his career so far. The first set will be crucial here but Mensik’s big serve and booming groundstrokes are likely to overpower the veteran. The 19-year-old is decent value to record a victory in straight sets.
