Rinky Hijikata vs Adam Walton prediction
Rinky Hijikata is ranked outside the top 100 of the world rankings at the start of the year. He did pick up a Challenger title, but Hijkata struggled on the ATP Tour. Aside from a quarter-final in Adelaide, the Australian could not make it past the second-round of a tournament.
Adam Walton also won an event on the Challenger Tour but enjoyed a far better season overall in comparison to his first-round opponent. He made it through to the round-of-16 in Miami, along with the third-round in Cincinnati. Walton also reached his first tour-level semi-final in Los Cabos.
This is their first match on the ATP Tour, but they have played twice before, with Walton winning on both occasions. He defeated Hijikata in a Challenger two years ago, along with a victory in qualifying for the Adelaide International at the beginning of last year. He deserves to be viewed as the favourite here.
