Renata Zarazua vs Marie Bouzkova prediction

Renata Zarazua picked up a strong set of results on ITF and WTA 125 events last season. She has a strong defensive game, with an impressive rally tolerance from the back of the court. She is able to absorb pace from more aggressive opponents and that makes her a difficult first-round opponent, especially if the conditions suit her style.

Marie Bouzkova is her opponent. The Czech is inside the top 50 of the world rankings and picked up a title at her home event in Prague last year. She lost in the second-round of the Brisbane International to the returning Paula Badosa at the start of this month, but then exacted revenge on the Spaniard in Adelaide on her way to round two, where she lost to Mirra Andreeva.

Bouzkova leads the head-to-head 2-0. Zarazua’s consistency could make this a competitive match, but the Czech is the stronger player on hard courts and should be able to overwhelm Zarazua at times with her strong hitting.
