Renata Zarazua pulled off one of the most notable first round results in this year’s Canadian Open by beating Katie Boulter in commanding fashion, winning 6-1, 7-5. Such a result will have given her the belief that she can go far in Montreal, although the opposition doesn’t get any easier here with Jelena Ostapenko next up.
The unorthodox style of Zarazua makes her a very tricky opponent as she has the ability to change her style of play fairly fluidly to suit the conditions and who she is playing. Ostapenko is a very good player, but inconsistent and a bad start could well see Zarazua pull away.
