Furthermore, another highlight of his season was a run to the third-round of the Italian Open after coming through qualifying. He enters the main draw as a lucky loser. In qualifying, he defeated Jaime Faria but then lost out to Eliot Spizzirri.
Opelka can be a dangerous player in these conditions when his serve is clicking, and he should have enough to defeat Kopriva, who primarily excels on slower surfaces.
