Reilly Opelka vs Tommy Paul prediction

Reilly Opelka picked up a fine victory in round one of the Adelaide International as he defeated 2024 Canadian Open champion Alexei Popyrin in straight sets. He fired down 22 aces, conceded just the one break point and won 88% of his first serve points as he won 6-3 7-6 (6) after one hour and 23 minutes.

He now faces a fellow American in Tommy Paul. The former world number eight made his return to the tour last week after an injury-hit 2025 but he got off to a poor start as he lost in three sets to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first-round of the Brisbane International. Paul was 5-2 up in the deciding set tiebreak but went on to lose. 

Paul leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a win in Dallas last week. Opelka and has started the season in encouraging fashion and is likely to be a test for Paul, who is still tentatively making a return after a long spell away from the tour.
