Reilly Opelka followed up his magnificent win over Novak Djokovic with a semi-final victory over the big-serving Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard to reach Sunday’s final in Brisbane.

While his monster serve continues to be a major asset, there is more to his game this week and he is doing enough on the return side of his game to get him through some tough matches.

He now meets the well-rounded Jiri Lehecka for the first time in his career and this will be a really interesting stylistic match-up.

Lehecka has enjoyed a good week and is also in the final of the doubles after this singles match but this will unquestionably be his priority.

He overcame Grigor Dimitrov in the semis who eventually retired when a set down and 4-4 in the second set but his performance there will only boost his confidence yet further.

Lehecka will need to start fast and get to grips with Opelka’s serve quickly but we just about favour his quality and athleticism to edge this. His motivation is sky high right now and we think he may just enough to beat the in-form Opelka.
