Reilly Opelka vs Fabian Marozsan prediction
Reilly Opelka withdrew from Paris Masters qualifying due to injury but curiously still entered the main draw as a lucky loser. He took the first set against Corentin Moutet but the Frenchman came back to beat him. His run in Basel a week earlier was encouraging as he made it through the qualifiers and won two other matches to make his fourth ATP quarter-final of the season, where he lost to Ugo Humbert.
Fabian Marozsan had opportunities to win his first-round match against Arthur Rinderknech in Paris but failed to get the job done in either set and lost in two tight tiebreaks. He did perform well in Almaty, beating Luca Nardi and Brandon Nakashima in straight sets to get through to the last eight, where he lost to eventual winner Daniil Medvedev. The Hungarian has been in his best run of form of the season during the past six weeks or so, having also got through to the quarter-finals in Beijing.
Marozsan will need to return well if he is to counter Opelka’s main threat, his booming serve. He should be able to take some confidence from his recent displays and has enough quality and variety to get the job done.
