Raphael Collignon produced a brilliant display in the first-round to beat Denis Shapovalov in straight sets. The Canadian was not close to his best but that shouldn’t take anything away from Collignon, as he won 6-4 6-2. He did not face a break point and continually creating chances for himself as he sealed the victory after just one hour and 16 minutes.

He now takes on Grigor Dimitrov. The veteran wrapped up a comfortable win over Pablo Carreno Busta to advance. The Bulgarian won 87% of his first serve points as he won 6-3 6-2 after just an hour and seven minutes. Dimitrov missed a large chunk of the season due to a pectoral injury, but he’s building his fitness up ahead of the first major of the year later this month.

Both players come into this off the back of impressive first-round wins. Dimitrov has the far greater pedigree and will be expected to advance, but he cannot afford a slow start against Collignon.
