This result backed up his strong displays on the Challenger Tour in recent weeks, having reached the final in Orleans and another semi-final.
Francisco Comesana is his next opponent, and he has already beaten a Belgian in the competition after getting past David Goffin in round one. He won the first set on a tiebreak after failing to serve it out at 5-4, before breaking late in the second to win 7-6 6-4.
Collignon has momentum on his side after strong previous results in the last few weeks, and he will also be desperate to perform in front of a home crowd once more.
