Raphael Collignon vs Arthur Fils prediction
Raphael Collignon enjoyed his best run at a grass tournament as he made it all the way from qualifying to the quarter-finals of the Halle Open. He pushed top seed and world number three Alexander Zverev, losing in two close tiebreaks. He then competed in Eastbourne but was unable to generate further momentum as he lost to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in his opening match.
Arthur Fils is his next opponent. The Frenchman has not played since retiring from his match at the Italian Open to Andrea Pellegrino. He suffered a hip injury which forced him to miss Roland Garros, and all of the warm-up grass tournaments. This was a blow for Fils after a strong clay court season, which saw him win the title in Barcelona and make the semi-finals of the Madrid Open.
Fils’ best result here was a run to the round-of-16 in 2024. Collignon is a very tough first-round match for a player that is just returning from injury.
