Rafael Jodar vs Cameron Norrie prediction
Rafael Jodar accepted a wildcard to compete in the Mexican Open. The 19-year-old has won 13 of his 17 matches so far this season. He qualified for the Australian Open to make his main draw debut and reached the second-round of the tournament. Jodar started the season by making the final of the Canberra Challenger and he comfortably defeated Ethan Quinn to make the second-round of the Delray Beach Open last week. He was a tough opponent for 2024 US Open finalist Taylor Fritz in the next match, losing in two close sets.
Jodar faces Cameron Norrie in the first-round. The Brit last competed in Rotterdam, winning his first-round match against Roberto Bautista Agut but then falling to a surprise defeat to Christopher O’Connell. Norrie has a decent record at this event, having made the final in 2022, where he lost to Rafael Nadal.
The Spaniard will look to make a fast start here with some early aggression, but Norrie’s consistency and experience could give him the edge if the match wears on.
