Quentin Halys vs Daniil Medvedev prediction
Quentin Halys got off to a winning start in Halle as he defeated compatriot Benjamin Bonzi 6-4 6-4 in the first-round. It was a strong serving performance from Halys, who struck down 18 aces and won 80% of his first serve points. He now takes on former world number one Daniil Medvedev for a place in the last eight.
Medvedev also enjoyed a comfortable first-round match as he beat Daniel Altmaier 6-3 6-3. The Russian was not broken on serve and exposed the German’s misfiring backhand at times during the contest. Medvedev, who made the final here in 2022, lost in the quarter-finals of the Libema Open last week and will hope for a deeper run this time around.
This will be their first match on grass, but they have played once before, with Medvedev defeating Halys 6-4 6-2 in the fourth-round of the Miami Open two years ago. The Russian is beginning to find his feet on the grass but must navigate Halys’ strong serve if he is to book a place in the quarter-finals.
