Quentin Halys vs Alexander Zverev prediction
Quentin Halys defeated fellow countryman Ugo Humbert in straight sets as he booked his place in the third-round of the French Open for the second straight year. Humbert had a set point in sets two and three, but Halys saved them both as he won 6-4 7-6 (4) 7-6 (8) after two hours and 58 minutes.
He now takes on world number three Alexander Zverev for a place in the round-of-16, after the German beat Tomas Machac. Zverev faced just the one break point in the match, as he won 6-4 6-2 6-2 after one hour and 48 minutes. The 29-year-old is a former Roland Garros finalist, progressing to that stage in 2024.
These two played each other for the first time at Indian Wells earlier this year, with Zverev coming out on top in both tiebreaks to win. Halys will need to serve extremely well if he is to keep pace with Zverev, who is yet to be challenged at this year’s event.
