Queensland Reds vs British & Irish Lions prediction
After a humbling defeat against Argentina in Dublin a couple of weeks ago, the Lions began their tour of Australia in more positive fashion with a resounding 54-7 victory over Western Force, and they now take on another state-based side in the form of the Queensland Reds.
The Reds, who finished fifth in this year’s Super Rugby Pacific competition and lost to eventual champions Crusaders in the Finals series, should put up a much sterner test than the Force did over the weekend.
The Lions lost influential scrum-half Tomos Williams to injury on Saturday, which is a huge blow to their series as a whole, but he would have been unlikely to start this one anyway with Andy Farrell making 14 changes to his starting line-up.
It is unlikely to be as one-sided as Saturday’s contest, but the Lions are growing in confidence and should wrap up another morale-boosting victory in this midweek encounter at the Suncorp Stadium.
