Qinwen Zheng vs Coco Gauff prediction

Coco Gauff will aim to maintain her perfect record against Qinwen Zheng when they do battle for a place in the 2025 Italian Open final. 

The American continued her excellent clay form with a solid 6-4 7-6 quarter-final victory over seventh seed Mirra Andreeva. 

It sets up a third career meeting with the Chinese star Zheng, who finally defeated world number one Aryna Sabalenka by a 6-4 6-3 scoreline at the seventh time of asking. 

Gauff has won the previous two encounters with Zheng, including a 7-6 6-1 victory in the Italian Open quarter-finals last year. 

Gauff does have more craft on the clay and if the forehand and first serve are on song it should be the American who prevails, although don't be surprised to see it go the distance. 

Zheng isn't much of an underdog and has complete belief on the surface having won Olympic gold last year, with a high first-serve percentage and effective use of the plus-one forehand key to her hopes.
