Qinwen Zheng vs Amanda Anisimova prediction

Qinwen Zheng picked up one of her most impressive wins on grass as she defeated home favourite Emma Raducanu in straight sets at Queen’s. She controlled the first set but was forced to come back from a double break down in the second to advance to the semi-finals. Zheng won 6-2 6-4 and is into a grass court semi-final for the first time in her career.

She will go up against Amanda Anisimova after she defeated compatriot Emma Navarro 6-3 6-3 in the quarters. It was an aggressive performance from Anisimova, who has won six of her last seven matches and looked relatively untroubled since transitioning to grass.

Zheng has won both of their previous matches but this will be their first encounter on grass. The Olympic champion came from a set down to defeat Anisimova in the first-round of the US Open last year and did the same a month later in the fourth-round of her home event in Beijing. 

Zheng has shown promising signs on grass this week, but Anisimova is moving well and striking the ball phenomenally. She’s good value to reach the final.
