Polina Kudermetova vs Ella Seidel prediction

Polina Kudermetova is in dreadful form and currently on a nine match losing streak. Her last victory came all the way back in Charleston on the 31st March against Irina-Camelia Begu. She lost in the first-round last week to Suzan Lamens despite winning the second set in Montreal. She enjoyed a fabulous start the year in making the final of the Brisbane International, but it’s been extremely tough going for the 22-year-old since then.

She will look to return to winning ways in the first-round against Ella Seidel. The 20-year-old from Germany advanced through the qualifying stages after wins against Varvara Lepchenko and Priscilla Hon. She mainly competes on the ITF circuit, though did make the quarter-finals in Cluj on the WTA Tour, winning four matches in a row including qualifying, before losing to Anastasia Potapova.

This should be a match where Kudermetova gets a win on the board, but she has completely lost that winning feeling having gone so long without a victory. Seidel will relish the chance to register a win against an out-of-form opponent on the WTA Tour, and this may go to a deciding set.
