Penrith Panthers vs Parramatta Eels prediction

The "Battle of the West" sees two traditional rivals, Penrith and Parramatta, clash at CommBank Stadium

The Penrith Panthers (17th) suffered a 25-6 defeat to the Newcastle Knights in Round 12, albeit with a depleted side due to missing Origin players. Their form has been erratic all season, winning two out of the last five with one draw.

In stark contrast, the Paramatta Eels (15th) are coming off a strong 30-10 victory over the Manly Sea Eagles in Round 12, their second straight win and third in five.

Panthers winger Brian To'o has an excellent try-scoring record against the Eels, having crossed for 10 tries in 13 games against them.

Incredibly, Parramatta are aiming for three consecutive NRL wins for the first time since 2023.

The Panthers won both encounters against the Eels in 2024, with scores of 36-34 and 26-18. Penrith lead the overall head-to-head 28-25. However, the Eels have won three of their last four clashes against the Panthers at CommBank Stadium.

Despite their current ladder position, the Panthers are a different proposition with their Origin stars onboard. In saying that, they have been the most disappointing team in the competition and the Eels will sense an opportunity to pounce.
