Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam that ninth seed Paula Badosa has failed to reach the quarter-finals in, with her game generally better suited to the other surfaces.
The Spaniard has re-entered the top ten in the world this year, which began with a run to the semi-finals of the Australian Open, but she cut a frustrated figure in the grass-court Berlin Open last week, retiring in the second set of her quarter-final with Xinyu Wang and subsequently smashing her racket.
Katie Boulter lost her title as British number one when he was defeated in the second round at Queen's recently, but she followed that up by reaching the quarter-finals in Nottingham.
The 28-year-old is hoping to avoid a first-round exit at Wimbledon for the first time since her debut in 2017, but this is a tough assignment for the world number 41 against a top-ten player.
Badosa's physical condition is something of an unknown after her recent withdrawal. If she has recovered then she should be favoured here, but don't be surprised to see this go to a deciding set.
