Panna Udvardy vs Lois Boisson prediction
Panna Udvardy suffered a first-round exit at the US Open, losing in straight sets against Mananchaya Sawangkaew. She was broken on five occasions, losing 6-4 6-3. Her highlight of the season was at the Copa Colsanitas, as she reached her first tour-level final. She was unable to win the title after a defeat to Marie Bouzkova. Udvardy also advanced to the semi-finals of the Rabat Grand Prix, but her results on hard courts have not been entirely convincing this year.
Lois Boisson also suffered a first-round defeat at the US Open, but her performance against Emma Navarro was considerably more encouraging. The Frenchwoman pushed the 26th seed for three sets before losing 7-6 (6) 6-7 (1) 6-3. Before New York, Boisson reached the third-round in Cincinnati, beating Ashlyn Krueger in straight sets and advancing past Belinda Bencic before a loss to Diane Parry.
Neither player has been particularly convincing in recent weeks, and this has the makings of a competitive match.
