Olivia Gadecki vs Coco Gauff prediction
Despite losing in the semi-finals to Iga Swiatek last year, Coco Gauff was the recipient of silverware in 2024 at the French Open after winning the doubles title with Katerina Siniakova. Her power on the baseline, mixed with speed across the court makes Gauff a demon on the clay surface and the 21-year-old superstar from the USA will be seen by many as the main challenger to the likes of Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka in this year’s women’s singles.
Form is in Gauff’s favour, although she did fall at the final hurdle twice both in Madrid and Rome. But she’s consistently been excellent at this tournament and you have to go back to 2020 for the last time Gauff failed to reach at least the French Open quarter-finals, back when she was just 16-years-old.
It’s safe to say that Olivia Gadecki is a huge underdog and just to avoid a thumping defeat would be a positive from the Australian’s perspective. Learning on court and capitalising on errors will be key for Gadecki but Gauff just won’t be expected to make enough that could open up any prospect of an upset. Back Gauff to get the job done in straight sets.
