The Ukrainian has advanced to two tour-level semi-finals this season, along with a final appearance in Antalya on the ITF circuit. Oliynykova is closing in on the top 40 of the rankings for the first time in her career. However, she has just two wins from six matches on outdoor hard court this season.

Her first-round opponent is Reese Brantmeier. The American was handed a wildcard for the main draw of the US Open, and she will be making her main draw debut at a Grand Slam event. Brantmeier’s last event was the Landisville Open on the ITF circuit, which saw her reach the quarter-finals.
