Former Olympic silver medalist Marketa Vondrousova was a singles runner-up at the French Open back in 2019, when she was beaten in straight sets by Ash Barty in the final. Last year, Vondrousova was a quarter-finalist at Roland Garros, her highest singles finish since that run back in 2019, so expectations will be high from her point of view.

Oksana Selekhmeteva made it through to the main draw the hard way, winning three qualification matches, the latter of which was a three-set affair, Selekhmeteva coming out on top 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 against Lola Radivojevic.

But Vondrousova represents a far stiffer assignment and she’s a strong clay court player. Likely a contender to possibly make another deep run this year, back Vondrousova to defeat Radivojevic in straight sets.
