Nuno Borges vs Facundo Bagnis prediction

Nuno Borges has competed in just one event since making the third-round of Wimbledon for the very first time. He headed into the Swedish Open as the defending champion but lost in the first-round to Filip Misolic, despite winning the first set and serving for the match in the second. He does have some decent results on hard courts, having made the semi-finals in Auckland at the start of the year and on the Challenger Tour in Phoenix. 

He will begin his Canadian Open campaign against Facundo Bagnis. The 35-year-old won his first match on the ATP Tour this season and ended Vasek Pospisil’s career with a three set win in the first-round. Bagnis was a set and a break up, but the Canadian did stage a comeback in the second to force a decider in his final ever event. Nevertheless, the Argentine came through to win 6-2 3-6 6-3.

Despite his win, Bagnis’ best days on the court are well past him, and Borges will be expected to come through this one in straight sets.
