Nuno Borges vs Andrey Rublev prediction
Nuno Borges reached the third-round at the French Open for a second successive year as he came from a set down to beat Miomir Kecmanovic. Borges started slowly and went behind, but the Portuguese completely dominated the next three sets to win 3-6 6-2 6-1 6-2. Borges had beaten Tomas Martin Etcheverry in his opening match.
He now goes up against Andrey Rublev. The Russian battled his way past Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the second-round. Rublev controlled the first set but struggled in the second, as Ugo Carabelli drew level. The former world number five wrestled back the momentum as he won 6-1 1-6 6-3 7-6 (5).
Rublev leads the head-to-head 4-0 and 1-0 on clay. They played against each other at the Monte-Carlo Masters earlier this year, with Rublev prevailing in three sets. He is the favourite once again here and could overwhelm with his heavy forehand, but Borges has performed strongly so far and could profit if he extends the rallies effectively.
