Alex Michelsen may have failed to make much impression in Madrid and Rome but a title charge in a Challenger in Estoril sees him arrive in Geneva full of confidence. 

The American meets Nuno Borges for the third time and first on clay with the Portuguese perhaps slightly disappointed not to have made more impact on the European swing after kicking it off with a quarter-final in Marrakesh and a round of 16 push in Monte Carlo. 

Michelsen has more of a power game while Borges has the greater pedigree on the surface so far. 

It could go either way, but Borges has less form with just two wins in his last six and the young American appears to be getting better and better across all surfaces.
