Building up to the US Open, Novak Djokovic is back in action for the first time since a straight sets loss to Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals at Wimbledon in July. Djokovic began the year well reaching the Australian Open final but he has since barely played.
Thiago Agustin Tirante comes into this second round tie on the back of a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Jan Choinski, defeating the Brit 7-6, 6-7, 7-6. The Argentine reached the round of 16 before a 6-4, 6-4 loss to Learner Tien at the Montreal Open earlier this month.
Thiago Agustin Tirante has enjoyed a positive 2026 and he may well pose a threat to Djokovic but the 39-year-old Serb remains the favourite.
