North Queensland Cowboys vs Newcastle Knights prediction
The North Queensland Cowboys (14th) have lost four of their last five games, including a heartbreaking 19-18 golden point loss to the Parramatta Eels last week.
The Newcastle Knights (15th) are in worse shape, having lost their last five straight, culminating in a 48-12 thrashing by the Penrith Panthers last week.
Cowboys halfback Tom Dearden has scored four tries in four games against Newcastle.
Knights outside back Fletcher Hunt has scored three tries in his last three games.
The Cowboys have won the last four straight matches between the clubs, including a 28-16 victory in the finals last year. The Knights have not won in Townsville since 2015.
The Cowboys appear to be in a much stronger position, with the return of four forwards providing a significant lift. The Knights are in freefall and face a tough situation away at a venue they have long suffered at.
