Nicolas Jarry’s highlight of the season was his run from qualifying all the way to the round-of-16 at Wimbledon. This was a real step in the right direction for the Chilean after a tough season up to that point, but Jarry has reverted to his pre-SW19 form and has failed to win a single match since. Jarry is without a victory in his last six matches overall, though he has competed in just one Challenger event since the US Open in August.
Timofey Skatov is also in desperate need of a victory, having gone six matches without a win. His last victory was in the final of the Todi Challenger back in the middle of August, though he has lost 11 of his 17 matches on hard courts in 2025.
This is their first main draw match against each other, but they did face each other in 2023 Australian Open qualifying, with Jarry coming from a set down to win. Both players are on long, winless streaks and this one is up for grabs.
