Nick Kyrgios vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard Prediction

The ever-entertaining Nick Kyrgios is finally back in action and the 29-year-old will be raring to go after being out of action for the entirety of the 2024 season.

He has confirmed that he will play the Australian Open and it will be interesting to see if his body stands up to the doubles and singles in Brisbane this week.

Kyrgios will likely have low expectations, and the key will be getting as much time on court as he possibly can. He won his doubles match with Novak Djokovic on Monday and now he faces a fascinating test against talented French star Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, Kyrgios has never met the 21-year-old before as Mpetshi Perricard came to the fore on the ATP Tour in 2024 during Kyrgios’ absence. It will be interesting to see how Kyrgios handles the monster serve of the giant Frenchman. While his fitness may not be absolute top notch just yet, this match with shorter rallies may actually suit Kyrgios but it will likely come down to if he can return reasonably well.

We have to lean towards Mpetshi Perricard here as it could very well take Kyrgios some time to get up to speed.
