New Zealand Warriors vs Gold Coast Titans prediction

The high-flying New Zealand Warriors return to their Auckland fortress to take on a Gold Coast Titans side languishing at the bottom of the ladder and desperate for a positive result.

The New Zealand Warriors (4th) snatched a dramatic last-gasp 20-15 victory over the Newcastle Knights in Newcastle last week, thanks to a remarkable solo try from Leka Halasima. The win kept them four points clear of the fifth-placed Broncos as they return to their Go Media Stadium fortress.

The Gold Coast Titans (17th) are coming off a bizarre and gut-wrenching 21-20 loss to the Wests Tigers. After looking poised for a much-needed win, they conceded a late try and a field goal to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Warriors hooker Wayde Egan has completed 709 tackles at 94% success this year. His name continues to surface in representative talks and with a Kangaroo tour at the end of the year he  will look to continue his impressive form.

Titans Head Coach Des Hasler will celebrate his 500th game as an NRL coach. He was visibly frustrated in the sheds after last week’s game and while the effort of the Titan’s can’t be questioned, they have lost the ability to finish games off when in winning positions.

While the overall record shows the Warriors with a 20-14 advantage, recent history has surprisingly favoured the Titans, who have won five of the last six clashes between the two sides.

The Warriors at home have become one of the toughest assignments in the NRL. Against a Titans team low on confidence, it shapes as a long afternoon for the visitors.
