Even at the peak of her powers, grass courts were never a speciality for four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka, who is yet to go beyond the third round at Wimbledon.
The former world number one's year began in positive fashion with a run to the final in Auckland, but aside from a title at 125 level, she has struggled to really make an impact on the tour. Osaka won just one of her three grass-court matches in the weeks leading up to Wimbledon.
21-year-old Talia Gibson came through qualifying to reach the main draw at SW19 for the first time in her career. This after the Australian recorded her first ever victory at a Grand Slam when she triumphed in the first round at her home major in January.
Gibson took a set off Xinyu Wang in Berlin recently, and if the unpredictable Osaka is off her game, she could be good value to take a set here.
