Naomi Osaka vs Maddison Inglis prediction

Naomi Osaka got through her second three set match in a row to book her place in round three of the Australian Open. The four-time Grand Slam champion took the first set relatively comfortably but was forced into a decider as she was broken by opponent Sorana Cirstea when serving to stay in the second set. Nevertheless, Osaka broke at the start of the third and never looked back, winning 6-3 4-6 6-2.

Maddison Inglis is her next opponent after she staged a magnificent recovery to beat Laura Siegemund. The veteran looked set for the third-round as she served for the match at 5-4 in the decider, but Inglis stood firm and broke back. The match was eventually decided by an extended tiebreak, which went the way of Inglis. The world number 168 won 6-4 6-7 (3) 7-6 (7) and is through to the third-round of a Grand Slam for the second time in her career.

Osaka has not been at her best in this tournament so far, but she is the clear favourite on this occasion.
