Naomi Osaka vs Karolina Muchova prediction

Naomi Osaka roared into her first Wimbledon quarter-final with an upset win over world number one Aryna Sabalenka.

The Japanese star overcame her fellow four-time Grand Slam champion by a 6-2 7-6 scoreline to end a three-match losing streak against the Belarusian.

The 14th seed will now meet Karolina Muchova after the tenth seed edged out former champion Barbora Krejcikova 7-5 5-7 6-3 in an all-Czech affair.

This will be their seventh meeting and is a rematch of the Bad Homburg final just days ago, where Muchova took the title when Osaka retired with a foot problem while trailing 6-1 1-0.

That is their only previous showdown on grass with the overall head-to-head level at three apiece.

Osaka will surely give a better account herself given her incredible form so far at this tournament as well as the boost of defeating the favourite in the shape of Sabalenka.

This is a tough one to call as both players are playing exceptional tennis and it feels like a good shout to suggest we will see a large number of games and potentially a third set. Osaka will be highly-motivated to avenge that Bad Homburg loss and if pushed to tip an outright winner, she'd be our pick.

Naomi Osaka vs Karolina Muchova tip: Over 2.5 sets
