Naomi Osaka vs Ekaterina Alexandrova prediction
Naomi Osaka maintained her progress at the Bad Homburg Open as she defeated Elise Mertens in straight sets to advance to the last eight. Osaka won the first five games of the match and despite a slight wobble at the end of the first set, she went in front. The four-time Grand Slam champion broke twice in the second as she won 6-3 6-3 after just an hour and seven minutes. Osaka won 86% of her points on first serve and conceded just the one break point.
She will now face Ekaterina Alexandrova. The Russian reached her first quarter-final since February after overcoming Mirra Andreeva in straight sets. This was Andreeva’s first match since claiming her first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros and she struggled from the off as Alexandrova won 6-3 6-4.
Alexandrova has won consecutive matches for the first time since the Abu Dhabi Open, but Osaka will be a huge threat if she continues to serve well.
